Tell us about your background

I am 27 years old and born and raised in Dublin. Before playing with Stillorgan I played my youths rugby with De La Salle Palmerston. I have also had stints playing for Sligo RFC briefly and also in Austria where I played for RC Linz.

What made you want to join Stillorgan-Rathfarnham RFC?

I had stopped playing rugby for a few months after my under 20s season and started to miss it. I knew vaguely that a few lads from my year in school had started with Stillorgan and the rest is history! I have been a part of the club now for 6 or 7 years, with a couple of breaks in between while I was living outside of Dublin!

Who is your favourite teammate?

I’m a big fan of all of the other front rows on the team, except for Keith Mannion who has always had a reputation as a diva since his school days.

What’s the best thing about Stillorgan-Rathfarnham RFC?

I can genuinely say that having been a part of a good few clubs now, you won’t find a more friendly club with genuinely nice people than ours. The club draws from all around over Ireland and far beyond and it’s a great landing spot for someone new to or returning to rugby who wants to have a laugh while doing so.

Who will you be supporting at this year’s men’s RWC? Who do you think will win?

I will support Ireland and I think the winner is a toss up between us or the French.

Any advice for people looking to get into rugby?

Getting in touch and showing up to your first training session is half the battle. It’s never too late to get involved and no matter your ability there is a level out there for you.
