Little Ruckers – New Players Always Welcome
Little Ruckers is Stillorgan-Rathfarnham RFC’s youngest group of starlets, and caters for 3 and 4 year old children who would like to try out rugby and other games. This section of our club has been running for the last six years, and is a gentle, welcoming and safe environment for children to take their first steps in rugby. Sessions are led by our experienced coaches.
Places are available for new players to join for season second half of 23/24 season, and we invite interested parents and children to come along to try out a session or two. Sessions take place on Sunday mornings at Heavey Technology Park (Rathfarnham).

Little Ruckers – General Information:

Little Ruckers are the youngest Minis group at Stillorgan-Rathfarnham RFC. Activities are age-appropriate and tailored to 3 and 4 year old boys and girls (obviously no tackling or requirement for gum shields!)

| Girls and Boys aged 3-4 years are invited to join us for the new season, which commences on Sunday 27 August 2023, and runs on Sundays throughout the school term thereafter. |

What Are the Benefits for My Son / Daughter?
The aim of the Little Ruckers is to introduce young children to the sport of rugby in a safe, gentle and encouraging environment. Not only do children benefit from developing their sports skills, but it is also an opportunity to improve hand-eye coordination, increase confidence and socialization whilst getting some fresh air at the same time!
What Equipment does my Child Need to Participate?
Minimum investment required! Runners, boots (or wellies depending on the weather!) and outdoor clothing tailored to the weather on Sunday mornings. Hopefully there will be a requirement for suncream for at least some of the sessions!
How Long is the Season?
The season starts from Sunday 27 August 2023, and will run until April / May 2024. We break for school holidays (October mid term, Christmas, Easter etc). We will not run ‘Little Ruckers’ sessions on bad weather days.
What Happens if the Weather is Bad?
The aim of Little Ruckers is to promote positive engagement, and enjoyment from sport for young children. We don’t operate in poor weather conditions.
Where and When Do Sessions Take Place?
Little Ruckers sessions take place on Sunday mornings at Heavey Technology Park from 09.00-09.45hrs. Parking is available on site. For location details, click here.
