Stillorgan-Rathfarnham RFC: Our Journey, Our Growth, Our Future
Founded in 1973 as Salesians RFC by alumni of Salesian schools, our club began with a simple goal — to enjoy rugby and community. The club relocated to a long-term home in Clonskeagh where it was our home for 30 years. In that time the club renamed to Stillorgan RFC to reflect the player base and location, it was here we found a belonging and began building a legacy of resilience, camaraderie, and competitive spirit.
Through the decades, we grew stronger on the pitch — overcoming challenges and celebrating milestones, including an undefeated 2008–09 season that secured the Spencer Pennant and Leinster J3 League title.
In 2018, we embraced a new identity as Stillorgan-Rathfarnham RFC, reflecting our expanding presence and commitment to the local community. With our move to Heavey Technology Park, Rathfarnham, we established our own modern home with three pitches and floodlights — built for the future.
Today, we field multiple senior men’s teams and run a thriving youth and mini rugby program for boys and girls aged 3 to 15. Our club is grounded in inclusivity, player development, and community spirit.
The Next Chapter: Help Us Build Our Clubhouse
Construction begins in 2025 on our new clubhouse, set for completion in 2026 — a permanent home for players, families, and our wider community.
To support this major milestone, we’ve launched a “Buy a Brick” campaign — inviting you to leave a lasting legacy by contributing to the build. For those who would like to contribute in other ways we also have a GoFundMe option where any donation is greatly appreciated
By buying a brick, you’re not just supporting construction — you’re helping us build a home for the next generation of rugby players, volunteers, and community leaders. Your name — or the name of a loved one — will become part of the foundation of this next chapter.
To support our campaign please see the many donation options below:
Important:
Upon Payment please ensure that you include you NAME, EMAIL and CONTACT NUMBER. You will receive a call from Ross O’Donovan for two purposes
1. Verify the name and details to go on your brick
2. If you are a PAYE worker the Irish government will give the club a tax rebate on any donation over €250. If you meet the criteria it will maximize your donation to the club.
Of course any size donation is greatly appreciated on the road to buliding our club’s future!
